Byron Griffith
Photo Essay
Mr. Byron Griffith was Chris Robinson's business manager and agent. He may still be. I don't know. Byron's job was to find talented people. At one time I thought I wanted to an actor. Byron was kind enough to see if I really wanted the job. He introduced me around and at the time (1962 or there about) let me participate in his "showcase" parties. These parties were an informal gathering at his home in the Hollywood Hills for producers, would-be actors (yours truly), writers, and directors for the purpose of making a deal. I got this opportunity to present myself through my friend Chris Robinson. Chris, if I forgot to thank you, I am now thanking you...especially for being there when I crashed my motorcycle and during my recovery being the taxi. Anyway...I was a presenter for only one of these parties. I was not an actor.

This photo was the cover of a photo essay assignment when I was going to Art Center College of Design, in Los Angeles.

Byron was very open and friendly. Some
of the talent were able to stay at the
rambling house in the Hollywood Hills
During the week, Byron works with
selected talent, for the showcase party
on the weekend.
Will my coaching pay off?
Evidently the coaching worked. A
prospective producer looks at recent
color transparencies of the young lady
on the far right.
Byron is an avid chef. Sunday brunch
for the house guests, and friends, was an
event not to be missed.
"A funny thing happened on the way to the casting"
An inside joke at Sunday brunch. One of the
many ways to relax after the showcase the night
before.

Happy Birthday from the "kids"

"Am I King of the Mountain?....Hardly.
I know that I am not the only agent or
business manager in the entertainment
business. I just do my best...and....
hope. Lots of hope and focus. Staying
focused is the most difficult thing to do
in this business. Lots of distractions.
The ones who do not get distracted.....
they make it."
